Why We Started GolGetr

Our daughter, Kylie Alvarez, recently committed to play Division I soccer at UTEP — a moment that reflects years of grit, sacrifice, and relentless drive. But the road to get there was long, complex, and often overwhelming.

For four seasons, Kylie played for FC Dallas ECNL RL and ECNL RL NTX in Frisco, Texas — over 600 miles from our hometown of El Paso. Most weekends, we drove the 10-hour stretch so she could compete at a high level. We flew when we could, but more often than not, we were logging miles, missing birthdays, and giving up normal high school weekends — all in pursuit of chasing opportunities.

In 2023, FC Dallas invited her to join the ECNL 07G team full-time. As honored as we were, relocating wasn’t realistic for our family. Kylie stayed committed by training with a local club, working with a private strength and conditioning coach, and taking full ownership of her development — and her recruitment journey.

The path we took was intense — and frankly, unsustainable for most families. The financial burden, the time away, the emotional toll — it adds up fast. And while playing in ECNL or GA is ideal for exposure, not every talented player lives in a market where those opportunities exist. That means getting recruited takes even more strategy, initiative, and creativity.

That’s why GolGetr is here. To guide families through the college soccer recruitment journey.

A goal getter isn’t just someone who dreams big — it’s someone who shows up, figures it out, and fights through the noise. GolGetr is built to give families like yours the tools we wish we had earlier: clear guidance, smart strategy, and a mindset built for the long game.

Whether you’re in a big-city club system or grinding quietly in a smaller hometown, your path to college soccer is possible — and we’re here to help you get there.
